Ryder is growing up so much lately and is saying the cutest things! I often feel like I should have the video camera or tape recorder on constantly to catch it all but instead I'll just write it all down and the end of the day and try and remember exactly the way his 3 year old mind thought it all up! Here are a few thoughts I had to share...
Bedtime Prayers...
Every night when we pray, I usually pray first and he follows. It usually sounds something like this...
"Dear Jesus, thank you for this beautiful day and this beautiful house and our food and my bike ride."
Then he opens his eyes just a little bit to ask me "Jesus hear me?" (This is my favorite part!)
"Yes," I tell him, "He's always listening."
He closes his eyes again tightly to say something like...
"Thank you Jesus! I love you Jesus! Bye!"
I love it! It is so precious to be in the presence of such authentic, unguided dialogue with God. The best part is I can picture the joy and enduring smile of Jesus as He listens to every word intently. He really does care and listen to us all...thank you Jesus!
Where is Jesus?
Ryder: "Where is Jesus"
Mom: "He lives in Heaven and in our hearts if we want him to."
Ryder: I want to go to heaven to be with Jesus!"
Mom: "You can! If you believe in Him you can go see Him in heaven someday!"
Ryder: "Maybe I'll take an airplane or a rocket ship! I've never been in a rocket ship before!"
John and I just smiled at each other marveling at the way God draws us to Himself at such a young age! It is so evident we were created for friendship and intimacy with Him!
Hey, what's the big idea around here?
Ryder: "Mom what is Cole thinking about?"
Mom: "He's probably thinking, 'Hey! How come I don't get to eat a peanut butter sandwich yet? What 's the big idea around here?'"
Ryder: (erupting in laughter) "Yeah! Cole says...'What's the big idea around here? Where's my sandwich?"
So now according to Ryder, Cole is always thinking..."What's the big idea around here?" during several times of day including when he wakes up and we go into his room to get him, when I don't open the door to go outside but he wants me to and is upset...it provides much needed comic relief throughout the day!
The baby's GROWING!
After going to the bathroom and putting his shoes on all by himself...
Mom: Ryder, you're such a big boy now!
Ryder: (so proudly) "Yep! I'm just a big boy now cause the baby's growing!"
Baby Sister Coming...
Ryder is so excited for his baby sister to come out. After dinner tonight he said:
Ryder: "After Christmas, my sister is coming out!"
Mom and Dad: "I know, I'm so excited!"
Ryder: "She's just going to POP out?" (hands popping from stomach)
Dad: Not exactly.
Mom: Don't worry, she'll come out.
Ryder: "She's just going to pop right out on this table?"
We were laughing so hard!!!
