We had the BEST day as a family on Saturday! It was John's last free Saturday for a while as the next 3 weeks will be filled with football games, homecoming parades and rallies and marching band festivals. We wanted to soak up the Fall together, so we went 5 minutes down the road from our house to an orchard we had heard great things about! It is owned by a couple who goes to our church and is visited by many who come from all over to join in the festivities held there. Apples are grown year round and during the Fall, the pumpkin patch is open to go and pick your very own pumpkin fresh off the vine :) On Saturdays the have fun things for the kids to do too...jump houses, petting zoo, panning for gold, pony rides, etc. It's very cute and a lot of fun :) They have a little cafe there too which we think we'll try next time and a cute country store and bakery with delicious homemade pies, donuts and pastries along with a wall full of bags of freshly picked apples you can buy by the peck or half-peck (I love it! I had never seen a peck of apples before!)

The following pictures are from our fun day...there's a lot but I couldn't leave anything out!

Here's Ryder petting a goat...

Just seeing how we measure up...

Ryder in front of the mums they were selling outside the country store...beautiful!

Now we start our trek up the dirt road to the pumpkin patch. Cole is getting a piggy back ride from Daddy since it's his nap time, and Ryder was SO excited to be in charge of pulling the wagon up road. They give you a wagon to collect your pumpkins in :) SO cute!

Here Daddy and Ryder are looking for the perfect pumpkin...

Cole is watching the boys look for a pumpkin, and then found one for himself with Mommy!

Ryder found one too...and so proud :)

Here Cole is trying to convince Daddy to go back into the pumpkin patch...he never wants to stop exploring!Daddy, Mommy and their tired boys...pumpkin hunting is hard work!Cole deciseds it's time to rest and convinces Ryder for a ride down the hill...

And so off they go down the hill...pumpkin and all! What a wonderful day!
