I've never been so excited to say that! With all the warnings of winter looming in the months ahead, Fall is celebrated around here as the most beautiful and predictable of all seasons. :) You know how much I love predictability! I know Fall has just begun, but here's a list of my favorite things about Fall in Illinois so far (in no particular order...that's for you Dancing with the Star fans out there!)...
- Leaves changing orange, red and yellow
- Reading "Fall" books with Ryder and Cole from the library
- Making Apple Crisp and the house smelling like a bakery!
- The crisp, cool air all day long...so refreshing!
- Raking up leaves with the boys and watching them jump in the pile only to start all over again!
- Jackets and sweaters, pants and hats (on my boys :)
- Going to the orchard to pick apples and pumpkins from the patch (future blog entry coming!)
- Walks to park as Ryder crunches through the leaves piled up the sidewalk with his bike
- Cole in his warm hat...so cute!
- Pumpkin flavored everything! (I LOVE pumpkin!)
Here are some pictures of our recent walk to the park...Cole got a new tricycle (early Christmas present while he can use it before the snow comes...lucky for me he still has no idea when you're supposed to get Christmas presents!) Now I can push him with without bending over (since that is getting harder and harder to do!) He rides it all the way to the park behind his brother :)
He loves holding on to the handle bars :)
Ryder is so fast on his bike now, that he'll ride way up ahead of me and then get off his bike and run back to meet us! He walks with us to his bike, jumps back on and takes off for the next corner! If it sounds dangerous, it's not! Don't worry!

Daddy and Ryder in front of our local elementary school and almost to the park!!!

Here's hint of what's to come...one of the trees has already decided it's time to change color!

Danice! It looks so pretty! I love hearing about the fall activities. We are still sitting in the heat, watching the weather channel anxiously hoping to see temperatures in the 70's! How do you make apple crisp? My mouth is watering :) Love you and miss you!
Thanks for your comment on my post - I was really encouraged by your post! It sounds like the Lord is teaching us similar lessons.
Wow, it sounds like you are having so much fun with the changing of the seasons. Fall was always my favorite season when I lived in Indiana. We always went to the Apple Festival. We would eat apple dumplings, go on a hay ride, and drink apple cider in the evening. I am glad you are having so much fun experiencing the simplicity of God's colorful creation and weather changes.:)
