Thank you for your prayers for Ryder's hearing test. He passed with flying colors and loved it so much he wants to do it again! Jean (the audiologist that works with Cole) is wonderful and had him play a game where he put a puzzle piece in a puzzle every time he heard a sound. He had to hold the piece by his cheek and then when he heard the beeps, he quickly put the piece in the puzzle. He was speedy quick and made us all giggle most of the time!
Afterwards, one of the staff at ECHO played with Ryder in another room while Cole had an hour of speech therapy with the very little he can hear with his hearing aids. At one point we were knocking on the door having Cole copy while we said "Knock, knock, knock!" The staff member with Ryder later told me that he heard us knocking and asked,"Who's that knocking?"
She answered, "That's Miss Holly. She's helping Cole learn to listen and talk."
Ryder answered, "Cole can't hear, but his hearing aids will help!"
"Yes!" she said, "And soon Cole will get a new kind of hearing aids that will help him hear more sounds too!"
"Yeah!" Ryder responded with enthusiasm!
We're so thankful for the Lord providing hearing for Ryder. It makes us think of the "little things" that are really "big things" that we all take for granted! Thank you Lord for eyes, ears, hearts and lungs that help us live each day!!!
