I just watched this video which was posted on another blog of a parent whose daughter has Cochlear Implants too! This is why I'm so thankful for the blogging world!!! I love connecting with other families who are going through similar journeys with their kids, and being blessed by the resources shared!

This video is a very clear and interesting testimonial from a man named Micheal Chorost who uses a CI. In it, he tells us about what it sounds like to listen and hear with his CI. I noticed it is an Advanced Bionics CI, the same company who made Cole's, but the implant he holds up to show you is on older model than the ones Cole has implanted. Still, what a great description for the rest of us who are dying to know what Cole hears! Since Mr. Chorost became profoundly deaf after years of using hearing aids, he does have a comparison to make of what it sounds like to hear with Hearing Aids and the difference he experienced in hearing with Cochlear Implants.

I'm so thankful to have watched it, because in my previous post I shared about Cole's progress so far and after watching this video I realize that Cole is practically learning a new languge! If I were blogging on my quest to learn a new language I'm sure he'd be ahead if me in progress! (I don't have much to show for my 4 years of Spanish class!) I hope this video enlightens you the way it does me and helps us all understand a little more of what those wearing CI's hear!

Thank you SO much for sharing this link. Our almost 7 year daughter has bilateral implants and has done amazingly well. It is amazing to realize all she has had to go through to get to this point.

I have a clip of her talking on my blog.
