...Summer Haircuts...
I finally did it. I gave Ryder his first "buzz cut!" With the humidity making the hot air thick around here these days, John and I decided that as much as we love that mop of blonde hair, shaving it off will keep him so much cooler this sticky, midwest summer! Cole's hair is not quite as short as Ryder's, but much shorter than when we started! No more combing for Mommy :) They love it. I asked Ry if he wanted to grow it out long again, and he said "Yes...wait, no. I want it short like Daddy :)" So now they match, even more than they did before! I love it :)

...Summer Chicken Salad...
I am no professional chef by any means...especially not in this season of life!...but this is one of mine and John's favorite dinners lately...grilled chicken, romaine, spinach, carrots, zucchini, fresh cut grilled corn, green onions, red onion, and a little cheese all drizzled with light ranch, and BBQ sauce :) Yum, yum! (sometimes we add olives and crushed tortilla chips too!)
This is what Cole does with our "favorite dinner"...He was holding the zucchini up to his headpieces, and then found they stick much better on his cheeks :) Zucchini Ears!

...Ry and Cora...
Ryder and Cora usually wake up from their naps before Cole does...they have a little fun bonding time together! Cora's eyes light up and she immediately gets a smile on her face when she sees one of her brothers coming toward her! Even though they do things like you see below, where Ryder covered her eyes with his Spiderman hat :) He was dressed as Spiderman that day and decided he wanted Cora to join him, so I came out from checking on Cole and saw this scene unfolding...Cora was laughing hysterically under that hat! Just when I thought I should "save" her, she proved to me that she's holding her own just fine with her brothers. :)
We're so thankful for God giving us a family to have "moments" with :) It seems the ones that are the most simple and the least planned make the sweetest memories. More are sure to come...
