The following video documents an exciting event for our family, following 2 weeks of watching the "Tour De France" as a family...yes...most times Ryder watched with us for at least part of the time! I think Lance Armstrong inspired him to take the plunge he's been ready to take for a while...(turn up your volume to hear the voices better)
A couple motherly side notes, just because I'm the mom...
  1. I know Cole's headpieces keep falling off in the video...I assure you this doesn't happen often, just when the bike helmet is on his head! He's in a phase of wanting to be just like his brother and so the bike helmet is worn every time Ry has his on!
  2. Usually Cole wears his harness inside his shirt...this prevents him from playing with it too much and trying to take it off...this video was very impromptu following a 2 mile ride through the trails in our neighborhood were he was in the trailer with Cora...thus, the harness outside his shirt :) Just a little insight into "real life" with our family :)
  3. I have to thank Ryder's friend Lanie for showing him "how it's done" at small group this past week! Seeing her riding all over her cul-de-sac gave him the confidence to come home and take those training wheels off!...it's also Lanie's old bike he's using...thanks Lanie!

We ride every night now, and he's become so confident! He'll go up and down sidewalks, over bumps, down hills and back up again all by himself! He's also learning to look for cars before crossing the street each time...we're so proud of our boy! He's growing up!!!

  1. I love the video. My husband cycles in his spare time and we also just finished watching the Tour de France. I'm a little sad that Lance didn't take first, but he rode as a team member, which is far more respectable in my opinion.

Ryder, you are doing a great job on that bike!!

Wow! This video is so cute. Ryder is getting so big. I can't believe he is almost the big four! I remember how excited I was riding my bike without training wheels, but I think I was six or seven. Great job Ry!

OK....Danice. THis is over the top. You're gonna become a blog consultant/video editor before you know it. So fun! The whole family came around our computer to watch. Fun, fun. JD's getting ready for the wheels to come off soon too. We'll see.
