I love sending and receiving Christmas cards each year. After Thanksgiving, I look forward to the first card arriving in my mailbox, reading about one of my dear friends or family members, and hanging their picture or story up on our fireplace to join the others. The collection we have hanging by Christmas represents the community God has placed in our life over the years, and we LOVE thanking the Lord for all the faces we get to look at during that time!

With our trip to California this Christmas, and our budget being tight, we decided NOT to send cards out from our home this year, but still wanted all of our dear friends and family to know that we love you. You are evidence in our life of God's faithfulness and love for us, and we praise and thank God for you....sincerely....and the picture at the top of this post would've been sent to you if we could have! You can even hold your computer next to your mantle where all your other cards are hanging if you'd like and pretend we're right there with the rest of them! :)

As we celebrate Jesus' birthday tomorrow, and think about the small crowd that gathered the night of His birth to worship our King, know that we are thankful to be part of the great cloud of witnesses alongside you now. On the night Jesus was born, only a few gathered. Simple animals, humble shepherds, gift-bearing men...but now there are many of us who know of the King...our Jesus. God surprised the world that night by sending his Son from the comforts of heaven to our world. Now let's make sure we make Him famous by the way we live. God's action of extravagant love deserves attention. May we make Jesus known by the way we love this Christmas!

May the Lord bless and keep you as you meet him at the stable this year, sweet ones. May He make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you as you lean over the edge of His rustic manger and look into the eyes of the One who came for you. You were worth this kind of birth. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Come this Christmas, to the One who gives rest and restoration. He created you...He came for you...and more than anything in the world, He wants you to know that HE LOVES YOU this Christmas.

From our family to yours...Merry Christmas
...from US :)
