After 2 glorious weeks with John's family, they were gracious enough to drive us a few hours south to meet up with my family who also woke up very early and drove almost 5 hours to pick us up! Yes, our family loves us!!! From our quick rendezvous (which was much too quick for having not had both sides of the family together in years!) we drove with my family up to a place called Hume Lake. Hume Lake is a Christian Conference Center that holds youth camps and adult retreats year round up in the Kings Canyon in Central California. It's been a tradition of my family to go to Family Camp every New Years since I was in Junior High. I've also been to Junior High summer camp there as a camper and counselor and loved it!
It's been especially fun to go back now with John and our family, making it a tradition whenever we're in CA over New Years...I am SOOOO thankful my Dad caught such great moments on his camera...thank you Dad for the memories!!! These pictures are treasures, as was our time together :)

Our Family in friendly CA snow :)

Uncle D joins in :)
The boys about to take their first venture downhill...together
Our sweet boy...so big now! :)
Mama and her girl :)
Gramma and the chubby princess...

All 3 little bundles right outside our lodge...Our winning snow sculpture...Grammie and Papa's House...We won best use of natural resources, and yes...everyone won in their own unique category:)
Ryder feeling brave...he was going FAST!
Gramma joins in on the fun :)Daddy and the boys :)Do you see our faces? I'm tellin' you...this hill was STEEP!Uncle D...KING of the hill :)
Not so fun when you face plant...
WEEEE!
Cole was brave!
Ryder won the award for most times up and down the hill...
And the only one from our family to master the mechanical bull!!!
I wasn't sure if he was old enough to ride, but the guy said as long as he can get on himself, he can ride. So Ryder walked up to the bull, and two bounces later, he was on! With his hand up in the air, he hung on for a while before getting thrown off...He rode twice!!!
Daddy and Cole at the New Year's Eve Party...Hats all around!
We ate pizza, watched funny skits, sang songs and counted down into 2010!
Happy New Year!!!!
Ryder always loves it when the balloons drop and we get to use the noisemakers in the middle of the table!
Then we somehow get the room of 400+ to stop the craziness for a moment and we all pray, thanking God for 2009, and asking for His wisdom and blessing on the New Year. We wouldn't want to celebrate the new start He gives us any other way! Thanks Mom and Dad, for another great year at Hume! We're already looking forward to the next one!
