It's been a month now since Cole took his first ride on his bike! One day, all the pushes from behind from Mommy and Daddy and all the hands turning his feet on the pedals to get him used to the right motion lead us to this moment! Progress in life doesn't ever seem to come without a level of commitment to the process that will get us there. Cole has shown us this in so many ways lately. We're in a season of harvest it seems with our 2 year old these days...with bike riding, potty training (He's doing great! He even got up in the middle of the night the other night to use the potty!) and in his journey to listening and speaking.

Sometimes, we hear Cole say "That wah? (way)" when he reaches the end of the sidewalk as we decide which way to turn. For the past month, he's been working on and almost succeeded in correcting that vowel error. It takes work...it's not easy or fast, but worth the effort in the end! Cole is one of the hardest workers I know. I'm not saying he's a perfect angel in therapy sessions, in fact this week he gave his therapists a run for their money as he tried to change almost every plan they had for him :) No, he doesn't always have a smile on his face through it all, but he is a constant reminder to me that we all live with mountains in our life...for Cole it's deafness while for another it may be a financial struggle or addiction...whatever that mountain may be for us, we get to choose if we are going to let it intimidate us into living a life of mediocrity, or choose to ask God for the strength to CLIMB THAT MOUNTAIN!

Cole chooses to climb. Sure he needs a little encouragement every once in a while...don't we all? That's what the body of Christ is for...to spur one another on in our climb. Who knows, God may even choose through our faith to move the mountain all together! God told us this is possible in Matthew 17:20 when Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."Whether he moves it or gives us strength to climb over it, to HIM be the glory for our beautiful ascent to the top!!! Because the top is where all those who know HIM are headed, by His grace. :)

So, enjoy this video of our little climber that was taken today. You'll see Ryder rush past in his old bike without a shirt on :) He just can't wait to run around without his shirt on when the weather gets warm enough to! At the end, he's screaming with excitement because our neighbor was walking up with her little girl who also has 2 boys our boys love playing with. Cole is now taking 3 mile trips to the park and back right alongside his brother...Cora and I rush to keep up from behind! Now we just need to work on braking and he'll be set for the Tour De France someday!
