...My littlest pumpkin is 8 months old...
and yes, I'll say it...where did the time go???

She's still the talk of the town around here :)
She loves to cuddle, is VERY patient and sleeps better than anyone in the house, all while sharing a room with her big sister.

I really can't get enough of of my littlest love...
For the past couple months, John and I have said more than once how much we love having 4 kids!!!  The fog of the first 4 months has lifted and though there are still moments of craziness, it is no longer the norm, and that, I can say feels refreshing.  I'm not saying that everyone should have 4 kids, but whatever number God gives you (1, 2, or 10), they are a blessing from Him and He will equip you with the strength and wisdom to raise them well.  To anyone out there in the fog of adding a new little life to your family, hang in there!  They grow, sleep comes, phases are grown out of and it gets better :)  Embrace NOW!  It'll never come again :)

She hasn't been a huge fan of tummy time until recently...
Now, she'll lay and play for around 10-15 minutes before getting antsy :)

...Other fun milestones this month...

...Eating...
We introduced a little meat into her diet this month of mostly fruit (apple, pear, banana) and veggies (green beans, butternut squash, spinach) mixed in with rice or oatmeal cereal but she's still a HUGE fan of spinach (go figure!)  She still nurses 5 times a day :)

...Teeth...
Her first 2 teeth sprouted this month on the bottom...(the first was at 7.5 months)

...Sleep...
She takes a morning and afternoon nap but is VERY flexible with when those happen!  Her morning nap is sometimes taken, at home, in the grocery store or at Cole's school if I happen to be observing that day...she likes snoozing in the Ergo carrier I wear when we're out and about :)

At night, she goes down at 7pm and wakes up around 5am to eat...she usually stays with us until all the other munchkins join us one by one as they wake up, ready for a group cuddle to start the day!

...Talking...
We like to talk in our house...at any given moment there are usually at least 2 different (maybe 3) conversations going on at all times, depending on how many of us are at home :)
No matter how much is going on at the moment, when little miss Rylee starts to babble, everyone stops, and the spotlight is on her :)  We just love that she's joining the ongoing conversation in our little house...

...The Thumb...
Yes...the thumb is still a close friend and immediate soother in times when nothing else will do :)  She truly is her Daddy's girl...now if we can just figure out a way to keep her from hanging on to it through 5th grade like her Daddy, I'm sure she'll thank us later!
Until then, we love it all...we love the thumb, we love the slobbery babbles, we love the cuddles at 3am, I love carrying her close everywhere I go and watching her dance when she hears music or squeal when she sees her brothers and sister get excited about something silly...

She's my littlest, my love, my last...

What a story her life will tell of one deeply loved by us and most importantly, the God who breathed life into her body and called her His own.  Right now, she is surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses who will share with her over and over about who God is and how great His love is for HER.

Oh Rylee...may you someday be compelled to share with others about His great love for THEM because of the way you've been loved.  Until then and even beyond...I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, forever and ever, my baby you'll be...
