Photobucket This is one of those moments I'd rather not write.  I'd rather curl up in a ball on my bed and honestly...just cry.  I really need that every once in a while.  Every once in a while, I need my world turned upside down to remember what is really important.  And it's interesting...Every time I allow myself to be sifted I'm ALWAYS better for it.

As I shared yesterday, I've been blogging daily since the start of this year.  I've felt called to share more consistently about how God is working in our life, but something happened in the process...I fell in too deep...so deep that I started loosing the vision God had given me and felt a new vision emerging...one that honestly, completely stressed me out, and I lost my JOY.  I felt chained to MY ideals, and that's when I knew...wherever I was going in my thoughts, was not of Him.

I've said it before, but I need to say it again...I'm a continual work-in-progress, and so is this little space I've been given to share.  I feel like today...through an e-mail from a friend, and the voice of the Holy Spirit gently whispering into the deepest parts of me...I heard these words LIVE FULLY, then blog.  Be cautious of living TO blog.

She wrote it perfectly.  I read it knowing it came from Him, to me, for this moment.

It's interesting, but all this is coming in at the same time as another word I feel I'm hearing from Him...let go of your legalism, and the judgements you've decided people have made of you and FULLY LIVE!  So on the heels of freedom from the preset pace I set for myself, comes another message...and I'm encouraged, because I sense His momentum and not my own anymore.

On our Facebook page, I said at one point that when we reached 100 likes, I would have a giveaway.  One where I'd giveaway one of my favorite devotional books, that I'm using this year.  Here's the deal.  I'm ditching the numbers game.  I just can't play it.  I'm way too competitive by nature to stick with that for long...I'm not saying it's wrong for everyone, I'm just saying that for ME, (and I know me)...if I decide do things to rack up numbers it starts to be about the numbers, and I begin to write for the wrong reasons.

So...here's the deal.  I want to make sure this blog is a place where I'm growing closer to Christ, and not where the enemy can try and stir up my pride again.  Since it's an area I struggle in, I have to let go of it completely.  My honest prayer is that God do whatever He wants to with the story He's written and continues to write in us...whether or not I ever know.  I'm quitting the quest to try and find out.  Instead, I just want to be faithful to share as I feel called, and let the Spirit speak as He sees fit.  Period.

So...this is what I sense Him saying to me today...
Numbers don't matter.  Do the giveway now.
So I am...and I love it.  I'd like to say next "That's how I roll"...but clearly, you see how I roll...and it hasn't worked :)  So I'm doing it His way, and honestly all of the sudden...I'm starting to feel a freedom come on, and THAT, I love.

So here's how it will work...I'm not going to tell you what to "like" or "join."  That's your thing.  I want  you to "like" something because you really do...not because I asked you to. If you DO want to help spread the word, here are ways you can do that...
"like" our Facebook page to receive updates on guest posts, giveaways and list prayer requests
"join" the google members in the sidebar,
paste our button on your blog (code is in the sidebar),
or "like" or "share" a post that has been meaningful to you on Facebook or in your own blog by clicking the "like" button on the bottom of each post.
Some of you are not on Facebook...word of mouth of great too, or sending a good ol' fashioned e-mail would do as well :)
I greatly appreciate the extra effort you take to do one or more of these things that you feel prompted to to do!

My highest aim is that God is glorified.  I'll leave it at that.  I want to send one of the following devotionals to someone who would love to journey deeper in their walk with Christ.  Here are some of my current favorites...

My Utmost for His Highest Journal
by Oswald Chambers
This is one of the most character deepening books I read daily apart from the actual Word of God.  This book has Chamber's writings broken into daily, one-page reads.  Next to each day, there is a place for you to journal and record your thoughts.  This is ideal for someone who has journeyed with the Lord for a while and wants to be challenged...

Jesus Calling
by Sarah Young
Wonderful journal by Sarah Young...filled with the words she heard Jesus speak to her as she took a year to just listen.  Whether you have been walking with Jesus for days or years, this would be a daily encouragement to you, as so much of her writing is rooted in scripture.

Jesus Calling..for KIDS!
by Sarah Young
If you've been looking for a way to consistently be in the Word with your kids, this is a wonderful devotional book for your family!  The daily messages mirror the ones in the adult version shown above.  Ryder  looks forward to reading this every day!

So to enter this giveaway...leave a comment letting me know which one you would choose if you win!  Would it be for you?  For a friend?  Family Member?  Do you have any others you've been blessed by lately?  These are only a few of the many great choices out there.  I'd love to hear you share if you are daily encouraged by a devotional I haven't listed too :)  And if you don't have a Bible and your name is selected...I'll send you one of those too...gotta make sure we hear from Him first and foremost!

I will pick a winner on Valentine's Day the old fashioned way.  Each name entered will go onto a piece of paper and into a jar and I'll take a video of one of my kids, choosing a name...oh, they're going to love this!  I can't think of a better way to celebrate Valentine's, than to help someone walk this journey a little better equipped with the TRUTH.  So spread the word...but only if you want to :)  God is up to something good.

And for Worshipful Wednesday...one of my all time favs...a truth I need repeated DAILY.  Especially when I'm in one of those upside down, being sifted sort of places....which really, when all is said and done, is a really good place to be.

Danice, I just wanted to share that this post was a Godstop for me. I've been looking for a devotional to use with my kids. Been to the bookshop a couple of times but just couldn't find anything. Anyway, yesterday morning, I was at the bookshop again and again couldn't find anything, so as I left I prayed for God to help me! And I decided that I would wait for God to answer because that way I could encounter God in a tangible way. Well then your post went up last night (Singapore time)! And I felt that was my answer. Btw, no need to enter me in the giveaway since you'd have to mail the book halfway around the world. But now I have a book to look for here!

Jesus Calling for Kids! Definitely want to start some habits with the Coopster while he is still young! Or the Jesus Calling to give to Matt's Grandpa. We give him one every year and we haven't given him one for this year yet. Love you friend!

I think I would have to agree. I would LOVE to go through Jesus Calling for kids with Mady. We are going through a few different devotionals right now and I don't love any of them. I have Jesus Calling for me and LOVE it. I can't imagine her devotional for kids being any less as touching. I also love My utmost for his highest. Also a favorite of mine!!!
