Last week, I watched my 4 (almost 5 year old) boy walk across the stage at his preschool graduation, and I cried.  Not just for this past year that seemed to fly by, but for every moment in the past four years that had led up to that moment.  My sweet boy walked across that stage to receive his preschool diploma, and as he shook hands and grabbed that rolled up piece of paper, he closed out his preschool days once and for all.  Swirls of memories flooded over me.

Every memory was part of the journey that had led him to that place...
Diagnosis, Surgery, three and a half years of therapy and there he was...
My son who was born deaf, walking across the stage at his mainstream preschool, as confident as could be with his teachers and friends surrounding him.

What an indescribable joy it is to be filled with gratitude not only for that moment, but for all the moments in the past 4 years that have made that one, possible.  Moments seen and directed by God, every step of the way...

Here are a few photos from Open House.
The theme was "It's a Small World" and Cole's class had Mexico as their country...

He was so excited to show us everything he had made, but first, here's a short clip of the concert they performed right before we went to the classrooms.  They sang "It's a Small World," and ended with a verse I loved!
He's our Savior, Lord and King...

(keep your eye on the cute boy in a tie, singing his heart out...he's mine. :)

After a great concert, we all got to eat homemade cookies that all the families brought...

Then off to see Mexico!

Apparently they all went on a donkey ride...
(or his teacher is really good using photoshop!)

He couldn't wait to show us his poncho and sombrero...

This boy loved his cactus!

We have been SO thankful this year for God leading us to such an incredible teacher for Cole.  He absolutely LOVED her.  Her kind and warm disposition was exactly what allowed Cole to blossom this year while he learned all his letters and made some wonderful friends :)  Here she is handing out a present to each preschooler...a Kindergarten "Survival" Kit with so many thoughtful gifts to go along with it.  I loved the way she gave each of her student a gift, then cupped their little face in her hands and gave them each a kiss on their cheek.  She really did love Cole as her own this year...something that was a gift for this Mama to see :)

We will always remember what an amazing year this was!
Largely due to this wonderful woman right here...

We are SO proud of our boy!!!

Up until a few weeks ago, we thought Cole would be returning to preschool for one more year.  After praying about it we decided, that this being Cole's 2nd year in preschool...it was time for our Cora Grace to have her turn!  This means Cole will be joining the homeschooling fun with Ryder next year and I couldn't be more excited to have both boys home together next year!

What a gift this boy is to our family...
I feel like after 4 years of being taught and coached by so many amazing therapists and teachers, it's an honor for God to call US to be his parents and his teachers next year at home.

We're so proud of you Colie Wolie!
God has already changed lives through your story, and we can't wait to see how He continues to use you in the future for His glory!!!

Thank you JESUS.
May this post be another of many "stones of remembrance" where we look back and remember how faithful you've been to our son.
You are SO good.
