There is something about packing up the car, buckling every member of our family in their seat....and RETREATing! Jesus did this often. Minus the car, he gathered up those closest to Him - His disciples, and retreated away from the crowds (whom He loved) to pray, rest and hear from His Father. When we get a chance to do the same, it is a gift.
Several months ago, our family was given a gift...a PLACE to retreat. Above the crowds, away from the traffic, Gramps and Gramma surprised us with the incredible opportunity to get away and enjoy the trees, fresh air and most beautifully...each other. We. are. GRATEFUL!
Here are a few glances at our time with my brother, sister-in-law and Liam in over Memorial Day. It is such a gift to have a place to build memories as a family!
Riding to the lake in style...
Don't forget the kayaks!
Cousins!
Swinging by the Lake...
Baseball with Uncle D...
Our little slice of heaven...
Our favorite spot to swim and kayak...
My precious nephew...
Do you see my nephew-to-be?
Cousin love!
Visiting the Village...
Cheese!
...All in a row...
Matching shirts from Gramma and Gramps!
Watching the water-ski school...
Daddy's girl...
Off to the island...
What a gift this place of retreat has become for our family. To leave the many to gather with the few has been life-giving for us in so many ways. Having a place to make deeper connections with the ones we've been called to walk the closest with is the most priceless part of it all...
