All week long, I've been pondering the idea of "healing." In my post from MONDAY I shared with you how, through Cole's journey...God has stretched me in the way I prayed for healing. I used to be afraid to pray for it, because I didn't want to have to deal with the disappointment if God chose, in His wisdom, to say...Not this time.
Since the time we learned of Cole's deafness, I've seen Him transform my cautious spirit into one who trusts fully in His way. It may not lead to healing in the eyes of the world, but in the eyes of the One who sees our hearts before our deaf ears, blind eyes or paralyzed bodies...to HIM, when we believe, we are healed. There is far greater value in our trusting Him to heal the hidden places a doctor may never be able to examine...His touch is like water to our thirsty souls.
Trading our sorrows for joy,
Our despair for assurance in HIM alone,
Our pain for His glory...
I can only imagine what it will be like when we get to walk with Him someday, fully ABLE. The amazing thing we MUST grasp for the rest of our days...is that the Kingdom of Heaven is now here...in Jesus...there is JOY to be had in the midst of our circumstance NOW.
I cannot think of a more beautiful example of God's love and healing for us then the video you are about to watch. Below you will meet a son and his father. When his son was born the father was asked if he wanted to put him into an institution because of his disabilities. The father said no. He wanted to raise the son in his home, as his own. When the son grew older, he asked his Dad if he would run a marathon with him. Not only did he say yes, but the father ran two marathons with his son and finally the Ironman Race - consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a marathon (26.219 mi) run, raced in that order and without a break.
The Father did it, all out of his love for his son. From the expression on his face, I would say the son knows the depth of God's healing in a more powerful way than most of us do today...
This is the kind of love God has for us. He loves us...oh, how He loves us...
Therefore do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day...

Praise the Lord.....
With tears in my eyes, I praise the Lord.
Me too...
