I hope you've had a wonderful weekend...one where you experienced God in some way, whether it was in solitude or in community...I pray you felt his presence in a meaningful way.

We had a whirlwind of a weekend.  We said goodbye to John on Wednesday morning as he left for Illinois with the first 160 pages of his dissertation to present to his committee.  He arrived back home Friday night with his proposal (the first three chapters) APPROVED!  I cannot tell you how thankful we are that the Lord has opened the doors for him to begin the research phase of this monumental project.  He'll be observing students with hearing loss who are participating in their high school bands, exploring their experiences as well as interviewing their families, teachers and peers.  We're so excited for him to begin this part...the reason he chose this topic in the first place.

I hope you're being blessed by our journey through scripture this year.  The following Mindful Monday verses for this week are below...

Psalm 119:11
I have treasured Your word in my heart so that I may not sin against You.

If I want to live a life pursuing Jesus, sin will get in the way every time.  Storing up the Word of the Living God in my mind and heart means I operate out of HIS desire for my life rather than letting the enemy use my sin to steer me elsewhere.

Deuteronomy 6:6
These words I am giving you today are to be in your heart.

This passage is part of a group of verses in Deuteronomy 6:4-9 that many call the most important parenting passage in the Bible.  There is nothing more powerful in a child's life then to see their parent's passionate love of Jesus.

May you be blessed as you meditate on His word this week!
