For the next five weeks, we'll be committing ten of those promises to memory. If you haven't joined us yet for Mindful Monday, now is a great time to start! Let's wrap our minds and hearts around the promises of God that never fail. What GOOD God He is!
Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.
Ten years ago, John spoke these words to me in our wedding vows. This promise has helped us through more decisions in the past ten years than any other bit of advice we've ever received. And I will say...it's proven to be true. When you seek God first in everything, He provides His best in return...for His kingdom, and for His glory. His kingdom promises never fail.
Romans 8:28
We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.
My family knows this to be true. Very true. If you'd followed any part of our journey long, you'll know exactly why. And I can't think of a better one for this month as we focus on Better Speech and Hearing! Charles Spurgeon calls this the best promise of this life. And I'll leave you with this final quote for today...
"We cannot fully understand now, but when we stand upon the heights of glory, we shall look back with joy on the things we have suffered, for we shall know then that our severest trials were a part of the "all things" which worked together for eternal good." - John BroadusI pray you are blessed this week as you dwell on the promises of a God who will keep them. Forever and ever. Amen.
